'Florence Nightingales' off to Denmark Six Nursing Sisters of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Nursing Service - all of whom saw active service in the war, left Liverpool Street Station this morning at the start of their journey to Denmark where they are to study nursing. They are going at the invitation of Copenhagen, Denmark's capital. Two of them, Miss Rollin (Iris Amy Lilian ROLLIN [1905-1977]and Miss Griffith (Gwynydd Marjorie GRIFFITH [1909-1977]) were prisoners of war in Japanese hands, When Hong Kong was invaded by the Japanese they could have left the city but refused to abandon their patients and continued their nursing whilst in captivity.
