The above news clipping in the Hong Kong Telegraph 17 August 1928

Dr. J. W. Noble, an American dentist is mentioned as being one of the first owners of a motor car in Hong Kong. Mentioned in the 1906 "Horseless Age", Vol. 18, No. 26  (see https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015080110953&seq=950&q1=noble.+hong+kong ) and with reference to Hong Kong: "At present there are but four cars in use; Dr. Noble has an Oldsmobile and J. W. Kew has another American car, while Lai Ming, a Chinese millionaire has an American Oldsmobile and a French car. The roads in Hong Kong are somewhat limited, the principal roads available for motor cars being Pok Too Lum (sic), Victoria Road to Aberdeen and from Shaukiwan, the bathing resort and back to Hong Kong. The roads are very gritty, but if a car, with good serviceable tires was sent there it would be certain to find buyers among the wealthy class, both foreign and native..........."

(The bathing resort at Shaukiwan probably refers to Tsat Tsz Mui 七姊妹, between North Point and Quarry Bay).
