This extract regarding the apparent banishment of Father Augustine Placzek as a "war enemy" at the beginning of WW1 is from the publication From Milan to Hong Kong: 150 Years of Mission, by Father Gianni Criveller of PIME. My thanks to kuievita for the source. It would seem to be refuted by extracts from the Hong Kong newspapers who mention Father Placzek being in Hong Kong during all the years of WW1. Again, I thank another Gwulo contributor for researching these articles for me. If anyone can find any information to support the "banishment" of Father Placzek it would be useful to know about it.
