The recent aerial photos of TST, Central and RAF Kai Tak are from the period 1927-1929. The lead Flycatcher in formation has a Serial No. 1071. Probably from HMS Hermes.
Interesting. Working on that hypothesis, HMS Hermes left Shanghai on 27th August 1927, arrived in Hong Kong a few days later and left Hong Kong 7th September 1927. Photos may date from around that period. And it’s right after the typhoon on 20th August 1927.
