the towers fire place and scenes in hall

This is the final photo of four professional photos taken ahead of the forthcoming auction to sell The Towers, 20 Broadwood Road and ahead of the sale of the contents that took place on 29-30 May, 1924. My grandfather, Charles Warren, its owner had died in June 1923. The typewritten legend on the verso of the photo reads "Fireplace and Scenes in Hall." The "Scenes" refer to the hand-carved murals that are integral to the walls. Can anyone interpret the characters on the lefthand one for me? My father recalled a famille rose vase, but I don't know if that is shown here.

The emphasis on fireplaces is interesting. I don't know how often they would have been in use in the mid-levels of Hong Kong, although the area often seems to have been misty.
