Above photo was taken from the 'Reservoir Islands Viewpoint'.

It is of different height and angle from the photo below with barren hills. Note how the forests have grown over the decades.

The most vivid and detailed coverage I could read about it is not on English media. It is from a Mingpao Weekly interview before the 'Eye on Hong Kong' exhibition back in 2017.  (^)

Some original photos could be seen in their webpage. As the article, there are more than 200 hundred old photos discovered and gathered by the current chairman of the Group. Many of them are finely framed and stored with 3 leather suitcases. It also tells the missed story of these Tai Lam Chung reservoir photos and other anecdotes about Yaumatei, Central and Tuen Mun daily lives.

I could further read related history of this project from other independent sources, generally accessible to ordinary people.

(^) I find that Online Doc Translator appears to work better than Google Translate. It could have Mr Kadoorie's name translated properly, unlike Google which is weak on names.
