Tried to identify the buildings, especially the one with the distinct cupola, but failed. The road shown has a side-walk on the left, likely not Connaught Road. Please help to identify the location.
Identified as the Bund, Canton/Guangzhou.

First impressions. The electricity poles and the wide pavement or sidewalk on the left suggest that the photo was not taken in Hong Kong. Perhaps the "Bund" in Canton as seen at: https://hpcbristol.net/visual/Tr02-075

Thank you moddsey, this is a direct hit. If you zoom into the photo you referred to, the building with the distinct cupola is visible. The photo I originally posted is a couple of years older. Will correct the title.
