Tai Lin Radio Service Company (1946-2008)
Tai Lin started in post-war 1946 with radios sale and repair service (origin of its English name, probably). [1] Their first shop is at 309 Nathan Road.
In 1957, they were the first to introduce hi-fi audio equipment into Hong Kong for sale and as show room there by Dec. 1957. [2]
By 1963, they had bought the new place at 310 Nathan Road and opened another store, just opposite the first one.
In the 70s, if not few years earlier, their TV servicemen were probably the first (and ever) ones in HK who have their scooters which bear company brand name, to travel around. As a TV commercial later in the 70s, they had had around 7 stores around Hong Kong and sold all kinds of home electric appliances.
Tai Lin closed down in 2008, during the global financial tsunami period. Its flagship store then was right at 310 Nathan Road.
