This looks more like Yuen Long area looking south west towards Tai Lam Country park area - definitely not Shatin.

Surely you are right as postcards of the New Territories from the 1950s/1960s were quite often erroneously annotated. Much appreciated if you could nail down the hills in the background. Thanks Phil. In the meantime, the title has been amended.

Update 6 June 2024 - A quick look at the anomaly. A similar postcard taken from the same vantage point has the title "Spring Plant, N. T." below. It shows a better view of the hills and background for identification.

I think the title of the main postcard may have been mixed up with another postcard with the same title "Spring Sowing Shatin" that shows Ma On Shan in the background.

Somewhere around here (Google Earth link below), you see there is a big house far away from the rice field. I think it should be the building "同慶樓" in Tai Kei Leng
