Circa 1960s.
Looking south on Lock Road towards Peking Road. As shown on the 1960 map at: https://www.hkmaps.hk/viewer.html, the trees were sited on traffic islands in the centre of the road. Not uncommon, the traffic islands were put to good use for the parking of vehicles and the temporary siting of flower stalls here prior to the move to Haiphong Road. The flower stalls were previously located on Lock Road near the junction with Nathan Road as seen here
Signage seen in the photograph to indicate that the road is indeed Lock Road are:
(a) China Art Embroidery Co. - 6 Lock Road;
(b) Kuang Weng Ivory Factory Office/Store - 1 Lock Road.
Note the double verandahs fronting the buildings on both sides of the road. Unable for now to ascertain the name of the tall building at upper left. Alpha House?
