After the collision with the Green Island Cement Pier in June 1981, the M.V. SUNSHINE ISLAND was renamed LAMTONG CHAU. Under this name the ship continued sailing until 1984 when following a collision with the car carrier VANTAGE she was sold to ship breakers in Taiwan.
