This photo is from the family photos of Thomas Neave and daughter Florence Neave. It shows a boat and a family or friends excursion. Thomas Neave worked at the Hongkong & Whampoa Dock Co until the early 1920s. It seems likely this was a company boat available for employee recreational use. The boat bears a striking resemblance to the boat "K3". It is known that another employee of the Co had the use of K3. https://gwulo.com/media/48297 . The striped rolled-up sides look similar, the vertical supports look similar, the white slats supporting the roof look similar. The cane chairs might be similar and the horizontal rope is a similar height. But this boat seems to have a longer bow area and portholes, but smaller overall. Possibly the Co had a fleet of pleasure vessels.
