In the 1960s, on their way to the Silvermine Bay beach from the jetty, visitors had to pass a bridge over the river silver. It was built in the 50s. A toll of 5 cents was required to get through. The picture shows a man was collecting 5 cents from users on the so called "five cent bridge". It was latter replaced by a concrete bridge we see today.
