Probably after 1968 when the Wanchai reclamation was in its final phase and the new Wanchai pier has opened. In order to access the pier, there was a curvy road off O'brien road going to the pier.
This picture shows a bridge connecting Gloucester rd and the reclaimed land. News reports reported a farmer built a wooden bridge to facilitate people to reach the ferry terminal. It was labelled "kind-hearted bridge 善心橋".
