This is a view of the old blocks 16 & 18 along Shek Kip Mei Street. The view is looking south. Just past the block on the right is the St Francis of Assisi Church and Primary school.
Four blocks here (15/16/17/18) replaced the original H blocks 1 & 2 when Shek Kip Mei Street was extended north to Woh Chai Street. These four block were demolished in circa 2007 and replaced by two large high-rise blocks: Mei Hei and Mei Pak House.
I was in the area earlier today and strived to take a shot from the same angle as the image above. Blocks 1 and 2 were demolished several years ago and the site lay empty for about 5 years before construction started on Mei Hei House and Mei Pak House. The lower floors consist of a shared carpark/mall/podium that is about the same height as the old resettlement blocks.
