This photo shows the Governor of Hong Kong, Sir Alexander Grantham, and Lady Grantham attending the official opening day of the Trappist Haven Monastery on Lantao Island on 19 February, 1956.
In going through another of my father's albums, I came across several photos taken that day at the Monastery, including this photo and the one I posted previously. This confirms that my parents attended the opening day event and that my father took all those photos. He kept a few albums with very small sized photos as proofs before determining which ones to enlarge. Many of the older photos were only 1.5 x 1.5 inches in size. Consequently, some of the photos I edited and enlarged are not always as sharp.
