LASH- lighter aboard ship- JAPAN BEAR- passing North Point

New to Hong Kong around 1970, the LASH ships were a new concept challenging the emerging converted merchant vessels carry standard size containers.

The first to visit Hong Kong was moored alongside the Ocean Terminal for interested parties to inspect.

This image shows JAPAN BEAR carrying its own intregal loading and unloading cranes passing the North Point estates.
