The pier was rebuilt, likely in 2003. It was inaugurated on 1st January 2004.

ps The long building on the right hand side still exist and it is the Peng Chau Government Building, which housed the Post Office, The Police Post....... There are living quarters on the upper leven, but uncertain which department is is. The tower is gone though. I vaguely remember the Fire Service may be there back then, but the current Fire Service Station is next to Ping Lai Estate.
