Yes, that is the Albany, however I believe the image is reversed, (the big house behind the Albany should be on the right),
the man in the hat is sitting on Garden Road
(and it's John Thomson not Tompson)

1) I used to live there, so I know the hill well
2) the Welcome Collection has 2 versions of this image - one reversed
3) I can't tell left from right

Hi Alun, here's a closer look at the buildings.
The building that was furthest up the hill needs to be on the right of the Albany, which matches having the JT photo this way round.
