I am guessing these photos were taken in 1936 or thereabouts, before my parents married in 1939. The second photo of Willie dressed in white pants and shirt ties in with the group family photo taken in front of the house that I posted sometime back.

Tennis Interport - Recreio vs. Tenis Civil 1948
Hi Patrick, thanks for your post. Yes, that is my father, Willie Reed, in the group photo of the Club de Recreio team at the Tennis Interport match against Tenis Civil on 10 October, 1948. This photo was taken at Club de Recreio with King's Park in the background.
I looked through the other photos from the link you sent and recognized many of the families and faces, as well as a few photos that included my mother, Belle Reed. These photos are in Antonio M. Pacheco Jorge da Silva's book, The Portuguese Community in Hong Kong, Volume II, of which I have a copy.

What an insane book. An absolute treasure. Recognize some faces, some names which I have never known the faces of but thanks to this book now know. I love how the photos are so carefully labelled and the individuals named. Just wow.

David, I'm glad you were able to access the entire book from the link provided. Besides the pictorial history, there is pertinent information, including the street names and neighborhoods where many of the families lived during the early years and after the war. There are three volumes of these books on the Portuguese community in Hong Kong, and a fourth book is focused on the community in Shanghai.
