june 2 1953 is the queen elizabeth II coronation date. Children in Hong Kong were invited to a party at the stadium.

The entrance to Southorn playground. Looking out from the stadium. The ticket counter is around the corner on the left. One can see the children's playground and buildings outside on Johnston Road. Following is a picture of the entrance in the opposite direction from the outside looking in. The "ticket counter" sign in Chinese is visible.

One can see what looks like bottles of Vitasoy (维他奶) made of soybean - a popular drink after the war as a replacement for milk which was a luxury at that time.  Some stores kept the bottles in a warmer and sold them as "warm vitasoy". Most schools forbid the sale of soda in schools and it was the only drink allowed.
