Hong Kong folks my generation and readers who grew up in Guangzhou may remember their visits to this Hall. It was a short walk (about 3 city blocks) from my former home. I got as close as the foreground next to the lamp post - this side of the fence (but no fence in those days). The view here and the barren ground is how I remember back in 1949.
