Found this drawing on Flickr. Can't read the caption, but it looks to me as it shows the garden in 1935, and the drawing is from 1971.
The top pavilion is clear to see (artists love to emphasize certain features), and it's in the middle of nowhere.

The writing in Chinese on…
The writing in Chinese on the lower right hand corner means "Built in 1935".
Then those scribbles further down might be the signature. It's drawn in 1979.
