Lantau Tea Garden Tea House
Hi Andrew,
I think the correct name of this place should be "Lantau Tea Garden Tea House" as in the sign.
Hi, Thank you for the good
Hi, Thank you for the good and valid suggestion. I can see me getting into a very complicated reply! Yes, that was the correct name but a 'new' cafe / restaurant has opened on the Western side of the monastery with what looks like the same or a very similar name. So, for the time being, I'll retain my version of 'Po Lin Tea Garden restaurant' in an attempt to distingush between the old and the new. On another Forum on the Internet there is a very detailed set of photographs and description of the history of the tea plantation and the associated cafe / restaurant, the latter of which appears to have been a derelict time capsule until very recent times - and maybe still is?
Rather than type the relevant information into Gwulo it might be more useful if I try to provide a link to it. I am not sure how to do this, but this might get you there:

I think the photos are about the dorm, not the tea restaurant by the walk path. Regards, Peter

Thank you for confirming the link, Peter. Somewhere in those links I have seen several photogrpahs of the derelict cafe - which looks like a time capsule with many things still stacked on the shelves, and other things scattered around the cafe.. Regards, Andrew
