Many thanks for the information. I have looked, as suggested, the entry and it appears that The Majestic Class Carriers may not have been in Royal Naval Service. Although it appears they were sold to other countries. This does not preclude a visit to Hong Kong.
It is interesting to note that Colossus class carriers may have visited. I am still trying to find further information.
Many thanks for the comment on the scrapping of an aircraft carrier. It appears that the date range mentioned is 1956 - 1962. Along with some old photographs and other cinefilms, the gwulo community, have suggested that some of the photographs about 1949/50. Similarly one of the cinefilms. This information would appear to be outside this time frame.
I shall see if I can get another still from the cinefilm with a sharper image which may provide more of a clue. The film, as you can imagine, is very old.
If possible, other sharper images from the old cine film of scenes of the city may also assist in narrowing down the date range. That would be nice to view.

Re: Photo
Not sure if the photo is related to the break-up of the carrier for scrap metal as mentioned at: https://gwulo.com/media/16303

Re: Photo and Aircraft Carrier
Thank you for the reply. I shall look at the film in the next few days and take some stills to see if a date range can be provided.
Many thanks
