This 1937 photo was taken from Canton Road looking south. The pre-war building on the left appears to have only two floors but in fact there was a third level with balcony. Note that a part of the Canton Road south of Jordan Road has been relocated following the demolition of the theatre. I don't have information on the date of the demolition, however, its level-2 window panes especially the same appearance beyond the arch caught my interest and memory. The only reason I travelled this way was in 1950-51 to attend school nearby. So, the building survived at least until 1951?
