I bought this scale model of the B.O.A.C. half deck bus some years ago. In the late 1940s and 1950s these were used to ferry passengers to planes and also to take passengers to and from the then small city centre air terminals at Victoria in London and the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong. If the model's interior is accurate I can only see 19 passenger seats, so two of these vehicles would have been necessary to transport the forty or so passengers flying on a B.O.A.C. Argonaut. As far as I know they were originally developed for the R.A.F. to carry aircrew out to the planes at dispersal points around the aerodromes. (Andrew S)
