Both these two blocks were used by the R.A.F. I wonder why the lower one was demolished some years ago. All these blocks were of a similar late 1930s vintage. The dark square just to the left of the path as it reached the beach is the open front of a military building, and there is a lighter coloured one to its right.. Frank Kelbie (photos next to be uploaded) took a close up photograph of several friends at that shelter and the smaller building to its right. Why would the pre-war military build a shelter with either an open front or with a large door down near sea level? Was it a Lyon Light shelter? (Andrew S)
