In the 1950s it was unusual to see so many people up there, even at the top of the Peak Tramway. When I get round to up-loading the photographs for Peter Keeley into his sub-gallery in the 367 Gallery you will see quite a few photographs that he took of huge crowds celebrating the Moon Festival up at Battys some time between 1952 and 1955 - possibly nearer to 1954. There is one taken more or less in the same place as this one close to the Peak cafe and Upper Tram terminus. As I am up-loading the sub galleries in alphabetical order, I'm afraid that it will be a few weeks before I get to Peter's name. Andrew

Bowring Lookout
I jus noticed on the hkmap viewer 1955 map, the Victoria Lookout structure is labelled as "Bowring Lookout".
