Tony and Colin arriving at the Shek O road. In the 1950s this cutting at the top of the Cape Collinson Road was just wide enough to take the R.A.Fs 3 ton Bedford lorries. The land beside the road was rough hillside with steep drops on the seaward side. There were no fences and the lorry ride up and down the single track road between R.A.F. Little Sai Wan and the Shek O road was fast and furious. You didn't need to be nervous! The War Cemetery was the only cemetery along the road. This next photograph was taken in 1987, by which time the road at this point had been doubled in width.
