Mabel: "I picked up these Japanese leaflets after air raids at Bowen Road Military Hospital, Hong Kong."
The text reads:
Where is my darling?
Call to mind the days of peace.
HongKong completely enveloped in roars of guns and planes, your Fellow soldiers died yesterday and to-day. And your life hangs by a thread. Ask for the enjoyment of youth and love. That is the best way to live.
Tell your officers and fellow-soldiers 'tis useless to continue resistance any longer. Abandon your arms immediately and shake hands with Japanese troops.
