I found this epitaph in a cemetery in Happy Valley and thought you guys might be able to figure out what happened.
"The son that we did slay" exactly one year after birth? Strange, right?

Greetings. Yes, it sounds strange. Like many other headstones, the saying here is touching. The truth has been burried a long time ago. I mean no dis-respect but assume that it was a mis-spell, as "lay" rhymes just as well. Regards, Peter
