Do the signs in the building say "Nomura Hotel" and "Berblinger"? the text on the back says Hong Kong, but I have trouble reading the handwriting. (and my German is terrible).

What happened next is written in the second text:
Konter-Admiral Gühler stellt sich dem Gouverneur von Hong Kong vor. An Darmtyphus während der Bettlagerung infolge Beinbruchs, im Hospital zu Hong Kong gestorben. - "Rear Admiral Gühler introduces himself to the governor of Hong Kong. (Soon afterwards) he died in the hospital at Hong Kong off intestinal typhoid being bedridden after he broke his leg." A Tragedy! The picture seems to be the last one of the poor Admiral.
The funeral procession was a big event for all marines in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong newspapers covered the story; see the clipping from: Hong Kong Telegraph Wednesday Janaury 25 1911
The news kiosk in the foreground had been bugging me in identifying the photo. HF's photo is of Hong Kong and shows the buidlings to the west of Blake Pier (right of photo) and past the site of the General Post Office.

Rear-Admiral Guhler died in Hong Kong in January 1911. Hence perhaps the reference to Hong Kong.
