The Typhoon in Hong Kong on November 10th: HMS Otter rescuing the crew of HMS Sandpiper.
About 9am HMS Sandpiper one f the new river-cruisers made signals of distress, and the torpedo boat destroyer Otter, under Lieutenant Wilkins, at once fought her way to the sinking vessel, and at great hazard succeeded in rescuing all her crew save one. A few minutes after, the Sandpiper went down bow first.
