Around the coastline, to the left of the canopied gun emplacement visible in the photo, are, or at least there were still in the late 1990s, a large number of small living quarters dotting the cliffside, presumably built for the gun crews. Inside one of these structures, there was, painted on the rear wall,  a remarkably detailed, and well preserved, colour painting of an English fox hunting scene. I mentioned this in an article I wrote for Fragrant Harbour magazine, and sent a copy to the then head of the Gunners' Role in Hong Kong. I never heard anything further, I wonder who did it, and if it is still there.
