The book shows some of my favourite photos of old Hong Kong, from the 1880s til the 1960s. I've chosen photos that have interesting stories to tell, and use enlargements to highlight items that are easily missed on first glance. The first photo shows a 1930s street scene, but we zoom in to the bin on the lampost and that leads to stories about rats, plague, and Cantonese slang:
