After tunnel #1, we carried on up the hill looking for more. We found this one near the first peak. I think I have the marker at the right place on the satellite image, but just look for the big rocks in the left of this photo.
We followed the path through the undergrowth on the left, and came to this cut-away section.
There had been a significant collapse of the earth above the tunnel entrance, almost blocking it completely.
But there was enough of a gap to poke the camera inside and take a flash photo. That confirmed it was a tunnel entrance.
We could also feel a gentle breeze blowing out, so where was the other entrance?
I started struggling through the undergrowth in the direction of the tunnel, while my friend went back to the path. And found there was another entrance just a few feet to the right of the path! It was also quite blocked up, but there was enough room to squeeze in.
The first section of tunnel we went down was very humid and stuffy. You can see the beads of moisture on the wall of the tunnel.
We thought it meant we were walking to a short dead-end, but it turned out to be a long tunnel leading to a third entrance, now completely sealed up. The following video starts at the blocked up entrance, moves back to the entrance we used to get in, then follows the passage to the first collapsed entrance we saw.
They are long tunnels, but there is very little space apart from the tunnel itself. So you could use it to move troops from one side of the hill to the other, but it's hard to imagine people staying in there for any length of time.

That's a beauty of a Tunnel
That is an absolute beauty of a tunnel your boys found. I love the way that when you have balls enough to squeeze into a small hole it opens into something like that. Very rewarding. I got a little spooked when they guy on the Lamma website said he bumped into a Cobra, but I’m hoping ignorance and stupidity will see me through. I never did manage to get to the new tunnel on Jardine’s Lookout, sissy friends. If you fellas head up there I’d love to catch up with you, if you don’t mind?

Yes, it was a good one to explore. I'm not sure how much you can see in the video, but the rocks in the Lamma tunnels are quite colourful, grey's and browns, and even reds and blues in places.
I was thinking of the cobra comment when we went into the lower Ling Kok Shan tunnel. Most of it is at crawling height. But I consoled myself that Iwas also following his advice, and had someone in front of me!
