On 24 Feb 1941 he married Beryl Daisy Fair at St John's Cathedral in Hong Kong. (Source: Carl Smith Card 142063, which noted Skipwith was a Captain in the Royal Artillery.)

In Dec 1941 he was Captain Adjutant with the 8 Coast Regiment, Royal Artillery (Source: Hong Kong War Diary), so he spent the following years of WW2 as a POW in Hong Kong.

The wedding of Beryl Daisy Fair to Capt. P. J. T. Skipwith of the Royal Artillery was covered by the Hong Kong Daily Press the following day on 25 February 1941.

Capt. Skipwith enlisted in 1935. After the fall of Hong Kong he was interned at North Point Camp, then Sham Shui Po Camp, followed by time at Argyle Street Camp and finally back to Sham Shui Po.
