Actually, this was a recent (digital) photograph of the year 1971 cargo tag issued a day or two before the American President Line's S.S. President Wilson, set sail for America on Aug. (19), 1971.
Note that rusted metal strap...it was the "tide" around all these wooden case with tar paper "in-laids ?" to hold items of all sorts wrapped with newspapers and stuff with sawmills etc. Way to transport/moving household items before those bubbles plastics wraps in stacked up cardboard boxes were "invented/used" to help people move across the ocean with items in cardboard boxes, nicely stacked within those giant containers...There were six bags of clothing stuffed in custom made white large canvas bags, did not made it through the quarantine process because they got wet underneath, inside the cargo holding areas on board...
