First aircraft of Cathay Pacific Airways. Sold in 1953 and later repurchased by Cathay. "Betsy" returned to Hong Kong in its original livery and subsequently made a harbour flypast in September 1983. The photo was taken on the promenade near the Star Ferry Pier and City Hall in 1986 prior to the aircraft's permanent display at the Hong Kong Science Museum.
(Update 2025. After being sold in August 1953, it is believed the DC-3 had been leased back to Cathay. "Betsy" subsequently commenced operations with Mandated Airlines at Lat, New Guinea in August 1955. Source: From Betsy to Boeing, The Aircraft of Cathay Pacific Airways 1946-1988.)
