Looks very much to me like the narrow road that used to lead up from Shaukeiwan to the Cape Collinson Correctional Institution (for Boys I think). But I haven’t been along it since the 1980s….

What I had not realised was that the vehicle registration number in this photograph is 334 and this is the same vehicle registration of the one in my other post "communications". This is therefore something to do with the Hong Kong Defence Force

Is this Chung Hom Kok Road…
Is this Chung Hom Kok Road at Southern district? A section leading to Chung Hom Kok Battery is as narrow as the road in the photo.

The Solar Topee headgear for soldiers went out of use after WW2, so a date of 1930s seems reasonable.
