2025 Update: This Place marks the location of a building used by Wah Yan College around 1920. I've moved the marker from Garley Building to the location of today's 60 Peel Street, based on the comments below.
I've set the approximate location. There isn't 54A or even a 54 Peel Street now, but I guess it was where the Garley Building, 46-52A Peel Street, is today. Corrections welcome.

renumbering of Peel Street
From 1901 map(i), no. 54 Peel Street is higher up the street. It may be close to the corner of 60 Peel Street nowadays.
We could notice that renumbering has taken place over the decades. Around this junction, it results : no #54 or the like(ii), no #61 on Peel Street. Similarly on Staunton, appears no #43 now.
Hi David, do you recall if for some specific pursuit to position No. 54A a decade ago ?
I find that 54A is referred to as 'Upper Peel Street' then also.
From the Gazette, 54A was once related to a pioneer book on Cantonese music/opera. A bit esoteric to most of us.
You are welcome to discuss below or send email to me. Will further look into the info I have found at hand then.

ii. same is reflected in current version registry records of Garley Building (I.L. 450)

54A Peel Street
I made this Place after reading a comment saying Wah Yan College briefly used 54A Peel Street around 1920: https://gwulo.com/comment/27593#comment-27593
Do you think the marker should be where number 60 is today?
Hollywood Road, uphill via Peel Street
Yes, I think it is closer.
Existing pre-war building at 60 Hollywood Street far outlives the other two uphill, it is now about 100 years old.
Meanwhile, Queen's College was just two blocks away, in the 1920s.
If for #33 Mosque Junction, appears no change vs the 1901 plan; a rare, tiny building from the 70s now situates in this context.

p.s.
Author of said book, as Gov't Gazette 1917 & 1922, lived on 54A (on 1/F, as 1923's).
Interestingly, an entry in the jurors list of 1922 & 1923 shows one person lived on 54B (top floor).
So this is some hint how No. 54 may be sub-divided in years around 1920.
