I remember Ray Lawrence (Charles Raymond Maurice Lawrence, 1923-1987) and his wife Freda. Lovely people. They were family friends through my paternal grandparents Jack and Mildred Bottomley, and Ray was Godfather to my brother Fred. They lived in a house off Gough Hill Path, on the corner of 99 Peak Road in the 1960s/early 1970s. Fred remembers Ray coming to his 7th birthday party in the playground at Cavendish Heights, Jardine's Lookout, whilst they were playing British Bulldog and giving him a present.
