Current condition
Demolished / No longer exists
This is the old northern end of Lock Road. Today Lock Road's northern exit is on Haiphong Road, but previously a solid block of buildings ran along the southern side of Haiphong Road, so Lock Road made a 90-degree turn and exited onto Nathan Road instead. You can see the old layout on the 1956 map: http://gwulo.com/node/34636#17/22.29733/114.17229/Map_by_ESRI-1956_Kowl…

Lock Road
Lock Road came in to use in 1931 commencing from Peking Road and terminating at the north side of K. I. L. 406. See Government Gazette Notice No. 21 at: https://sunzi.lib.hku.hk/hkgro/view/g1931/617712.pdf It was a dead end road. The extension of Lock Road onto Nathan Road likely came into use in the 1950s. Date yet to be verified.
