In the 1960 newspaper photo, Christmas tree lighting appear on the sides of the building with a single tree I think lit at the bottom. Slightly different to the main photo.
Cannot make out but looks like the 'new' Chartered Bank (1959) is not in the main photo ?

The xmas lights look the same as a 1960 newspaper photo's
The chinese caption on the right mentioned the lights were lit on the evening of Dec.19

I guess HSBC might have used similar designs in the 1950s up to early 60s.
