Aberdeen harbour taken from a sightseeing junk

My father was an international brewer and we were unaware that he travelled through HK in the 90's in order to reach his final destination - Chongqing where beer was brewed under license. He died in 1998 and therefore we weren't able to hear about the city he travelled through and which we now live. A selection of city views - Central, the Peak, Aberdeen and Botanical Gardens around the mid 1990's I think.

This is the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant. My Dad was a Power Station manager for China Light & Power from 1969-96. We took many boat trips and had lunch there. I fondly remember going to the live fish & seafood area, pretending to catch our lunch! The carved melon boat displays were truly spectacular! I have old photos when we went with visiting relatives.

"This is the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant."

This is the Tai Pak, not the Jumbo. Although at the time the photo was taken the "Jumbo Kingdom" - combining all three former separate restaurants - had already been created, hence the confusion.
