   This view looks eastward in Des Voeux Road Central, at Ice House Street. Note "The Chartered Bank" building. Note also the old headquarters building of the HSBC... 

In fact, old photos from the right side are much fewer and this scene of both old HSBC and SC headquarter buildings only stayed a bit longer, when the former started to demolish July 1981 and the latter few years after.
