Hello TNeave123. The T Neave of 1867 is my great grandfather. I am intrigued by the sentence "Father Thomas Neave was born in Hong Kong 1911.". I have not heard of this person before. Are you related? Thanks. Edward Alder
Sorry for the confusion. I am Teresa Neave ( born 1951) and my father was Thomas (Tom) Neave (3rd) born in Hong Kong 1911. My Grandfather is also Thomas Neave (2nd) - your great Grandfather ( in the photo above). My brother is John Neave, who would have also been called Thomas Neave (4th) but he was called John after our cousin John Wilkie ( Auntie Lily / Lilian's son) who died in a flying accident just after the war. We grew up in Derby and often visited your grandmother (Mollie) in Rugeley. Did you grew up in the Grange? I can't remember if we met years ago?
Thanks so much for replying. That clears it up. My grandmother was actually Florence, not Mollie. My father was your cousin Geoff Alder who you must have met years ago. I recall my father often mentioning “Uncle Tom” and I think I met him as a child but can’t picture his face. I thought he was born 1909 but thanks for the correction. I’ve posted a bit about Florence on the site previously. I’m a lawyer in Hong Kong and I’ve been here for 30 years. I actually grew up in Cape Town so neither UK not HK. My children Henry 2004 and Claudia 2006 were born and grew up here. 4th generation of the family to live in HK but not uninterrupted as my father never lived here. According to jury lists another Thomas Neave lived in HK much earlier around 1850 but I don’t know if he’s related. There were other Neaves in the Far East per the Singapore company Fraser & Neave.

It has been nice to see all this family history.
