Can anyone identify this waterfall? Was there a pool at the top of it? If so, it was possibly the Thousand Threads Fall. (Andrew S)
Several subscribers to Gwulo have pointed out that the water is Silvermine Bay waterfall on Lantau. As at many locations in Hong Kong dense vegetation has now covered the bare and rocky terrain that was the norm on many of the hills.

Silvermine Bay Waterfall?
As David had suggested Silvermine Bay as one of the beach photos, the above photo may have also been taken there.
Hi Moddsey.
Hi Moddsey. I think that I would discount Silvermine Bay on Lantau. As I explained on the other photograph that David thought might be Silvermine Bay, I doubt whether Malcolm went there. I see that there is a concrete structure, perhaps a reservoir, at the top of the waterfall. Might that be a clue? Regards, Andrew
Second thoughts - it is very likely to be at or somewhere near Silvermine Bay. Andrew

Hi Moddsey
Following the ongoing discussion about the Springboard girl pool at Yick Yuen and Peter's at Chung Shan terrace, I am still tempted to suggest that this waterfall might be the one above Silvermine Bay. Allowing for the fact that most of his digital images didn't arrive in a logical order, this one was next to the two that show the Spring Board girl and the Yick Yuen pool. The Silvermine Bay waterfall is not much further up along that path. There are several images of this on Google Earth Street View but none seems to provide a good match. Malcolm's image shows a concrete structure (a small covered reservoir?) at the top of the fall and that might provide a clue. On the other hand, the large number of people on Malcolm's photograph suggests to me that it was taken at a far more accessible place than Silvermine Bay was in 1951/3. Any thoughts, Andrew
Silvermine
It's Silvermine - despite the massive amount of vegetation now covering the top of the waterfall, some of the rocks visible above (near the topof the fall) can still be seen in more recent photographs on GoogleEarth.
