This plan shows the position of I.L. 2259 and I.L. 2124 in relation to Section A of I.L. 1947. The area in pink shows no. 20 Broadwood Road, The Towers. No. 21 was built in the small adjoining curved segment next to it. I'm not sure of the date of the plan. Perhaps the Chinese script explains more.

IL 1947
Hi Jill, the heading for the page includes the text "I.L. 1947 R.P.". I think that describes the area shaded pink and means Inland Lot 1947 Remaining Portion.
Then the small curved segment on the left is Inland Lot 1947 Section A.

I.L. 1947 Section A r.p.
Hi David, I haven't got the documentation relating to I.L. 1947 with me at the moment. I think R.P. is either "remaining portion" or "reserved portion". Can I confirm this at the end of next week? In 1918-19 both nos. 20 and 21 are described as Section A of I.L. 1947, but this is a change from 1916-17 when an existing house from Leighton Hill was given the number 20 Broadwood Road and was also designated as Section A. (It became no. 19). The large Inland Lot 1947 was actually divided into Sections A to L, but the Broadwood Road houses listed in the Rate Books only include Sections A, B, F, G, H, K and L of I.L. 1947. I'm not sure where C, D, E, I and J have got to, if they exist at all. Several individual Broadwood Road houses are in different Inland Lots. I.L. 2124 (marked above) rings a bell, but I can't place it off the top of my head.
I posted the above plan to show the position of I.L. 2259 (nos. 22 & 23 Broadwood Road). I hope I haven't sowed confusion instead.
